REPORTS indicate that Iceland has now officially broken away from the other multiples in its commitment to end the sale of colony eggs this year, according to Human League UK.

The commitment to go cage-free was removed from Iceland’s website several weeks ago, as we reported on 3rdApril (Iceland and Asda singled out). We have been unable to reach Iceland for more clarification, but a report in The Grocer attributes this to a wish to protect consumer choice during the cost of living crisis.
